Pork and other haram meats

Pork and other haram meats

Allah bless humans with many blessings, one of them is food and drinks..
Allah says us to eat all healthy halal foods which are good for us and are allowed to us. He forbade things which are impure and unhealthy to us.

“He wil make lawful for them all good things and prohibit for them what is unhealthy and unwholesome” [7:157]

Allah also says in Qu’ran :
“Say (O Muhammad): I find not in that which has been revealed to me anything forbidden to be eaten by one who wishes to eat it, unless it be Maytah (a dead animal) or blood poured forth (by slaughtering or the like), or the flesh of swine (pork); for that surely, is impure or impious (unlawful) meat (of an animal) which is slaughtered as a sacrifice for others than Allah (or has been slaughtered for idols, or on which Allah’s Name has not been mentioned while slaughtering)”
[al-An’aam 6:145]

It is mentioned 4 times in Qur’an that eating pork meat is haram. It is a major sin to eat Pork and it is considered to be the dirtiest animal in Islam. It is also prohibited to eat anything which contains pork products. Even selling pork is not allowed in Islam.

If you’re at all familiar with the Bible you’ll probably remember that in it God specifically instructed His people not to eat pork and shellfish. Many people are surprised to find this out, but in the Old Testament God warned us that the pig was an unclean animal–a scavenger and not to be eaten.

“Do not eat any detestable thing. These are the animals you may eat… The pig is also unclean; although it has a split hoof, it does not chew the cud, you are not to eat their meat or touch their carcasses.”  [Deuteronomy 14:3-8]

“A large herd of pigs was feeding on the nearby hillside. The demons begged Jesus: ‘Send us among the pigs; allow us to go into them.’ He gave them permission, and the evil spirits came out and went into the pigs.”

[Mark 5:11-13]

No matter how you think about it, pigs are a rather dirty animal. They are considered the scavengers of the farm (created to eliminate any waste on the farm), often eating anything they can find. This includes not only bugs, insects, and whatever leftover scraps they find laying around, but also their own feces, as well as the dead carcasses of sick animals, including their own young. This in itself can explain why the meat of the pig can be so dirty or at the very least not so appetizing to consume.

Medical experts also have recently discovered the harms of pork meat and it is says it can cause up to 70% health risks. We do not doubt for an instant that the pig is a dirty and filthy animal; moreover it lives on dirt and filth.

With regard to the physical harm caused by eating pork, modern science has proved a number of things, the most serious danger of eating pork is that pork’s blood contains eggs of tapeworm which may grow to a length of 2-3 meters. If they grow in the region of the heart that may lead to high blood pressure and heart attacks.

*Pork is regarded as one of the kinds of meat that contain the most cholesterol, an increase of which in the bloodstream leads to an increased of blocked arteries.
*Eating pork causes lung infections which result from tapeworms, lungworms and microbial infections of the lungs.

Pigs are animals which live in their own excrete. It is told in science what we eat, we behave like it.The pig is the most shameless animal on the face of the earth. It is the only animal that invites its friends to have intercourse with its mate.
If you eat pigs then you behave like pigs.

But, it must be reminded that just because we are asked not to eat pork doesn't mean we should hate pigs. There are many other animals that we can't eat (such as cat, dog, eagles, lions, cheetahs etc.).  Does that mean we should hate or hurt them?.

Every creature was created by Allah for a purpose. The Prophet always encouraged us to be kind to animals

When Allah Almighty prohibits (Haram) something for His servants, He does so certainly out of His overflowing mercy on them, to save them from all what may bring them harm; He is indeed Ever-Kind and Most Glorious!
